Glitch
Floor Lamp

The creation of a pattern in knitwear design begins with a grid of pixels; each pixel represents a single knitted stitch. While this grid of pixels is inherently uniform and rigid, the fluid and elastic nature of knit fabric is not. The slightest movement or stretch contorts the pixels, creating a “glitch.”

The Glitch lamp is an exploration of this quality in knitwear. The frame design, emblematic of a pixelated knit thread, serves both as a lens to capture the resolution and fidelity of a glitch, and as a frame for stretched knit fabric.
